The pluses: Exquisite furnishings, light, quiet, terrace, supremely well-equipped, in one of Rome’s most prestigious locations: Via Giulia, steps from Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori, Pantheon, and Piazza Farnese. St. Peter’s, the Spanish Steps, and the Forum are all well within 20-30 minutes’ walk or a short bus or cab ride.
Neighborhood? You simply can’t beat it for elegance, prestige, character, fine dining, family-run trattorias, nightlife, antiques, fine linens, public transport, sightseeing, plus practical matters like banks, post office, coffee bars – in fact, everything you could possibly want in a Roman holiday.
What more could you want? In two words: an elevator, which our Santa Lucia flat lacks, requiring guests to ascend 68 steps to the topmost floor of this small palazzo. Not terribly difficult steps but 68 steps none the less. You either put up with it or take another flat.
